Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get an estimate on my landscaping project?
Yes, the estimates are done at no charge, however you will need to have a design completed either by a landscape architect or designer so that an accurate proposal can be prepared for you. Landcrafters, Inc. has professional designers that we work with and we would love to work with you to complete a beautiful design of your liking at a reasonable price.

Why should I change my landscape?
While you can probably best answer this question yourself, there are many reasons that we would give that answer this question. First of all to make your yard more functional for everyday use such as better access, privacy, comfort and enjoyment. Also, by beautifying your yard you increase the value of your home, and improve the curb appeal. For pride of ownership, most people would rather pull up to their home if it looks good rather than tired and run down.

How much maintenance is needed with your work?
The amount of maintenance can be controlled by what materials you select for the new landscape that you install. We will work with you to create the yard of your dreams and keep the maintenance to a minimum.

Is the installation of the landscape guaranteed?
Landscaping consists of many different parts (i.e. sprinklers, concrete, plants, etc.) and each of these parts are guaranteed in one way or another but the length and type of guarantee vary depending on which part. Be sure to discuss with your project manager if you have questions regarding a specific guarantee.

Will there be anything left for me do after the landscaping has been completed?
With any new landscape you will need to keep an eye on it, however with the advent of automatic irrigation, lighting systems and various other automated controllers it should be minimal. We usually recommend a qualified professional gardener to keep things maintained properly and to keep you from having to spend your Saturday’s behind a lawn mower.

Can you work when it rains?
Our crews will work before or after rain storms but generally speaking if the rain starts to really come down then we need to shut the job down for the day. Working during a rain storm can become dangerous as well as affect the quality of the work. Generally speaking we get back to work right after a rain storm.

How long does it take to complete a project?
Depending on the scope of the work this will affect the length of time it takes to complete the job. At Landcrafters, our philosophy is that the longer we are on the job the more the relationship wears out so we try to get in and out as quickly as possible. When we put a crew on your job they are there to stay until your job is complete we do not have that crew splitting time on three jobs at the same time.

Are you licensed and bonded?
Not only are we licensed and bonded but we are also insured with both Worker’s Compensation and General Liability protection. It is very important that a Contractor have these coverages for your protection. It is always recommended that you access the California State Contractors Board website and look up a Contractor before hiring them to make sure that everything is in good standing.

Do you offer financing?
We don’t offer direct financing however we do work with a few different home improvement lenders and can possibly help you secure financing when needed. We have found that if you go directly to your bank, or credit union you can usually get a better rate.

Is anything subcontracted?
Yes, where needed we sub contract for your protection. We have found that certain areas are very specialized and for your protection it is best to sub contract (i.e. Electrician). In the construction of a pool or spa this work is also subbed as well. The majority of the projects that we work on, all the hard and softscape items are completed with Landcrafters employees. When we do sub contract the Subs we use have usually worked with us for a long time and we have a good professional working relationship with them.

While it can be an inconvenience to go through a construction project at your home we try to minimize the pain as much as possible by completing the process quickly, cleanly and as efficiently as possible. .
